Cardinals democracy

By Jeff

SJ-R.com has another fun Cardinals poll up. This time you get to pick the greatest all-time Cardinal.

If you asked me 20 years ago, I would say Ozzie Smith. Ask me in 20 years and I’d say Albert Pujols. Today, though, I picked the Pride of Donora, Pa. And I don’t mean Steve Filipowicz.

(It’s my understanding that these polls last only one day. If you came across the other post about sj-r.com polls, the McGwire poll may have closed.)

I picked Musial as well. They are all good choices. For the MLB Hometown Heroes, I had a tough decision but ended up picking Stan the Man. All of them are HOF players which makes it hard to decide.

As of 10:40 tonight, Stan the Man is far ahead of the others with almost 55%. But, I had to pick my favorite base thief, Lou Brock. Love to watch that guy steal. Hey, do you remember the Brock-a-Brella?

  3. Jeff Says:

Marie, I sure do remember those things. My dad had an official US Festival Brock-a-Brella back in the day. Remember the US Festival?

Kid at store: “The what festival?”
Homer: “You know… the US Festival? Put on by that guy from Apple Computer!
    Kid: “What computer?”

Yes, the sports polls on sj-r.com only last for one day. Today (Friday) we have another timely Cardinals question that was courtesy of the 26th Man himself. Thanks!
